Privacy and data
Your data, in plain words
In short: original photos are kept only by you, there are no ads and no trackers, and you can delete everything in a couple of taps. Details are in the privacy policy.
What is kept where
On your phone
Originals — the photos and PDFs recipes were read from. They are not synced and are not stored on the server. To be read, a photo goes to the model once.
kept only by you
On our server
Your account — email and an irreversible password hash. Recipes, books, notes and tags — so they are on all your devices.

During recognition
Only what you send to be read yourself. Large PDFs sit in temporary storage while recognition runs and are deleted right away.

When you share a recipe
Original photos don’t go into the file — the recipient gets the recipes without them.
What we don’t do
- no ads
- no trackers or analytics
- we don’t sell data
- no advertising IDs
- no profiling
Voice and notifications
Dictation is turned into text by the system of your device or browser — Apple, Google or another provider of it; the recording may go to them. Only the text reaches us. Notifications on iPhone are delivered by Apple: it knows the device’s technical address and the notification text.
How to erase everything
- In the app: Profile → “Delete account”.
- Without the app — on the page app.dishery.net/delete-account.
Recipes, history and the account itself are erased — permanently. On your other devices local data is erased too — the next time that device goes online.
The app is not intended for children under 16. Questions about your data — support@dishery.net.
